Caring for our common home
Using the resources made available by the WWF-Guianas Sweet Water Project we were able to use murals to connect with a local artist Nigel Butler and several non-governmental organisations, such as Ecotrust Society, Silent Walls Murals, University of Guyana Biology Club along with the owner of this wall, Guyana Human Rights Association to implement community-led changes in the knowledge, attitudes and practices of individuals concerning environmental protection.



Fresh Water Protection
World rivers day 2021
Policy Forum Guyana (PFG) in observance of World Rivers Day 2021, decided to host three activities to promote awareness. These activities included a social media campaign, a clean-up campaign and a small educational gathering.

Racial Harmony Murals
Policy Forum Guyana took the decision to promote unity among Guyanese one step further by creating an everlasting impact. The decision was made to utilized a section of the fence of the McKenzie Sports Complex, Linden, and a Ball Field in Paradise, West Coast Berbice to create a message of awareness in a mural form.

Racism-Free Zones
Almost everyone can agree that racial harmony is important and this is especially critical in Guyana. This project aimed to reduce ethnic tensions among the Afro-Guyanese and the Indo-Guyanese rural communities.

During, the period of March to May 2021, PFG collaborated with the Rights of the Child, Leo Club of Georgetown Stabroek, Linden Youth Leaders, Regional Democratic Council #2, the University of Guyana, and Cyril Potter College of Education.

Strengthened Capacity of Indigenous Communities
Due to a lack of essential supplies such as food, sanitary products, medical supplies, and equipment, an inadequate amount of staff for these medical facilities. As a result of this, the borders and non-essential jobs remain closed or operating with reduced staff.

A program was created to promote the monitoring and reporting of the effectiveness of key public health indicators affecting COVID-19 at the community level.

PFG’S CLIMATE STRIKE
The international press has in recent months, shared stories of varying environmental crises, such as the lungs of the earth, the Amazon Rainforest is on fire or about hurricane Dorian and how it has devastated the Bahamas. If not, Guyanese have certainly felt the increase in temperature over the past few weeks hence the climate is changing faster than we can cope.

OIL AND GAS BOOKLET
The Booklet, with a focus on the emerging Oil and Gas sector in Guyana, has provided an example of a methodology for a wider range of society to participate in the decision-making process through increased awareness and involvement.
